U.S. Orders Anthropic’s New AI Model Taken Offline Days After Launch
Anthropic’s newly released AI model, Fable 5, was taken offline by order of U.S. authorities just days after its public launch. The move came after concerns that someone may have found a way to bypass its safety protections.
In response, Anthropic filed a lawsuit against the Pentagon in federal court. The company argues that the Pentagon’s directive cannot be enforced at this stage.
Because of that legal challenge, U.S. government agencies and organizations that work with the American military are still allowed to use Anthropic’s products while the dispute is unresolved.
