Maccabi Haifa to Start Glen Alvin Against Tiberias as Mohammed Sits Out
Maccabi Haifa is preparing for their Toto Cup match against Ironi Tiberias on Tuesday, aiming to improve after two consecutive losses and being eliminated from the tournament's semifinals contention. Head coach Barak Bachar will be without first-choice goalkeeper Omri Glazer and Sharif Kiouf, who was expected to be loaned to Hapoel Ramat Gan. In their absence, 19-year-old goalkeeper Glen Alvin will make his starting debut after a strong substitute performance against Ironi Kiryat Shmona. Mark Golankov, 18, will serve as the backup goalkeeper until Glazer returns and a second goalkeeper is added to the squad.
Midfielder Ali Mohammed will miss the match due to ankle pain sustained in the previous game against Kiryat Shmona. Although no serious injury was found, he has not trained and is expected to resume practice later in the week. Yarin Levi, who recovered from a virus, will return to the starting lineup. Veteran Kenny Saif has resumed training after three months and is expected to provide backup at left back and right wing positions, being fit for the league opener.
