Jewish Family Faces Antisemitic Abuse in Montreal Park Over Dog Dispute

A Jewish family visiting La Fontaine Park in Montreal, Canada, was verbally attacked by a woman who told them, "Jews are not allowed here." The incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, began when the father asked the woman to remove her dogs from a children's playground where pets are prohibited. He pointed to a sign warning that bringing dogs into the area could result in a 300 Canadian dollar fine. In response, the woman made antisemitic remarks and also insulted the man's children. The father called the police, but the woman left before officers arrived. Montreal police confirmed an investigation is underway to determine if the incident constitutes a criminal antisemitic offense, though no arrests have been made so far. This event occurs amid a troubling rise in antisemitic incidents in Canada. According to B'nai Brith Canada, 27 violent antisemitic events have been recorded since the start of 2026, more than double the number documented in all of 2025.
