US President Trump Considers Major Strike on Iran Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated as Israel closely monitors reports from the United States indicating that President Donald Trump is contemplating a significant attack on Iran's infrastructure and energy facilities. Israeli security forces have raised their alert level, although no changes have been made yet to the Home Front Command's public instructions. An Israeli official described the situation as "peak tension, on the verge of explosion," noting that Jerusalem believes Trump is closer than ever to deciding on a strike, but has not finalized its scope or timing.

According to the official, who spoke to Channel 12, the White House views negotiations with Iran as exhausted and primarily a stalling tactic. One option under consideration is a targeted strike on energy and infrastructure sites, intended to destabilize the Iranian regime without necessarily triggering a broad regional war. Israel expects that Trump might initially exclude Israel from the first wave of attacks, but anticipates that any major US strike will almost certainly provoke an Iranian response against Israel, potentially drawing it into conflict.

Meanwhile, Tehran has intensified its threats. Seyed Mohammad Marandi, a member of the Iranian negotiation team and regime supporter, warned that US attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran would also damage vital infrastructure in Israel and Gulf states. He urged residents of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, and Oman to prepare for immediate evacuation, claiming the entire region could face unprecedented escalation.

The US is also signaling readiness. The American embassy in Israel issued a warning to US citizens in the region, advising heightened caution, preparation for flight cancellations, possible airspace closures, and readiness to leave on short notice if the situation deteriorates. Despite heightened alertness and growing concerns, Israeli officials emphasize that no final US decision on an attack has been made and no new public guidelines have been issued.
