Mothers of 'Married at First Sight' Couple Celebrate Birth of First Grandchild

Sophie Daniel Benjamin and Dor Oz Cohen, participants of the Israeli reality show "Married at First Sight," recently welcomed their first son, Eitan Yitzhak. The families and friends from the show gathered earlier this month to celebrate the baby's brit milah (circumcision ceremony). In an interview with the program "Galit and Ilanit," the proud grandmothers, Galit Benjamin and Tzvia Oz Cohen, shared their joy and reflections on the unexpected but cherished union that led to this moment.

Galit expressed disbelief that the couple she first saw under the wedding canopy would now have a child, calling the event a "miracle" they are grateful for daily. Tzvia described the baby as a "cosmic connection" and said the energy surrounding the family has been uplifting throughout the year. Both grandmothers emphasized their happiness and affection for each other, highlighting the strong bond formed through their grandchildren.

Regarding Sophie and Dor as parents, Galit praised Dor's natural way with the baby and called Sophie a "lioness" for her strength during childbirth. Tzvia added that both are wonderful parents who have embraced parenthood with love and joy, with the entire family ready to support them. When asked about the baby's resemblance, Galit noted the lips resemble Sophie, while Tzvia observed the baby sometimes looks like Sophie and sometimes like Dor.

The interview also touched on Sophie’s personality, with Galit noting her meticulous and noble character, which was evident throughout the pregnancy and birth. Despite the couple having been together only a few months before Sophie became pregnant, the grandmothers viewed this as a blessing rather than a concern. The celebration included other family members, such as the bride Niv Argov, who shared her emotional experience of the pregnancy and personal growth following a relationship crisis.

The brit milah event was described as a joyful atmosphere reminiscent of a wedding, but with the addition of a new family member, marking a significant milestone for the couple and their extended families.
