During Benjamin Netanyahu's recent visit to Washington, a senior Israeli official provided a briefing that revealed tensions and media criticism surrounding the meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. The official described the meeting as having a great atmosphere and substantive content, despite sarcastically calling it "terrible" initially. Unlike previous meetings, this one was not accompanied by media coverage due to a preference for an open conversation without cameras.

The official launched a sharp attack on the media, accusing journalists of political propaganda and misinformation. He demonstrated detailed knowledge of reports published before the meeting, including those about American expectations for a political gesture from Israel and the inclusion of an international stabilization force in Gaza. Notably, Netanyahu’s team ignored Trump’s remark made two hours before the meeting that he did not need Israeli intelligence about the "Mount Makush" site in Iran, despite prior plans to present such intelligence.

The briefing also touched on a controversial Likud campaign video involving former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, which the official admitted he had not seen but heard reactions to, raising questions about the handling of significant campaign events.
