Maccabi Tel Aviv Starts Noam Ben Harush Instead of Sick Tyrese Asante Against Sheriff Tiraspol

Maccabi Tel Aviv faces Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday evening in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round. Coach Kenny Miller named a strong starting lineup but left out Dutch defender Tyrese Asante, who is ill and remains in Israel. Asante, who is sought after by several Italian Serie A clubs including Monza, Lecce, and Udinese, was replaced by Noam Ben Harush in the starting eleven.

Shagiv Yehezkel, who impressed in the previous match and preseason, continues in the lineup but will start as a winger in a 4-3-3 formation. Ben Harush will play as right back alongside center backs Mohammed Ali Kamara and Raz Shlomo, with Roy Revivo on the left flank. Last season, Ben Harush alternated between defensive positions, including a lengthy period under coach Roni Dayan when Miller was his assistant, while Asante played as a center back.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently looking to sign a foreign center back and a foreign winger to replace Amir Saheti, with the possibility of adding another foreign player later. The team aims to strengthen its squad as it progresses in the Europa League qualifiers.
