Eliyahu Livman Joins Noam LeIsrael Party to Continue Son's Legacy and Unite Israeli Society

Eliyahu Livman, former head of the Kiryat Arba council and father of Alikim Livman, who was killed in combat on October 7, has returned to political life by joining the Noam LeIsrael party. In an interview with Channel 7, Livman emphasized that his political involvement is a continuation of his life’s mission rather than a typical political move. He stated, "Being part of the public representatives of the people of Israel is my life’s mission," highlighting his commitment to serving Israel, especially regarding Jewish identity.

Livman expressed a deep emotional connection to his late son, saying, "I feel that Alikim is with me," and stressed the importance of creating connections not only within the religious Zionist community but also with traditional and other Jewish communities who share a strong Jewish identity. He believes this mission continues the legacy his son left behind.

Addressing concerns about vote splitting within the right-wing camp, Livman is confident that Noam LeIsrael will strengthen rather than weaken the bloc. He noted that many Israelis are seeking a new political voice centered on Jewish identity, which existing parties do not fully provide. Livman insisted that even if polls suggest the party might not pass the electoral threshold, they will maintain responsibility and bring new voters to the right-wing camp.

Livman described Noam LeIsrael not as a sectoral party but as a national movement aiming to unite various parts of Israeli society around Jewish identity, appealing to religious Zionists, traditionalists, ultra-Orthodox, and all who prioritize Jewish identity nationally.

Reflecting on the aftermath of October 7, Livman called for renewal in leadership and worldview, emphasizing fearless governance for Israel’s security. He recalled his son’s selfless act of saving others regardless of personal ties, embodying a sense of responsibility to all Jews. Livman concluded that despite the enduring pain of loss, his family is committed to continuing their son’s legacy by strengthening Jewish pride, identity, and mutual responsibility within Israeli society.
