Omer Niraon Nears Deal With Hapoel Ramat Gan After Lucrative Offer

Hapoel Ramat Gan, newly promoted to the Israeli Premier League, is close to signing goalkeeper Omer Niraon from Maccabi Netanya. Initially hesitant about joining Ramat Gan, Niraon was persuaded by an attractive financial offer. The club hopes to finalize the deal soon to avoid searching for a foreign goalkeeper, especially since Nir Eliasi, goalkeeper for Hapoel Be'er Sheva, has indicated he will not join Ramat Gan.

Ramat Gan recently began their Toto Cup campaign with a 2-1 comeback victory over Hapoel Petah Tikva, sealed by a dramatic winning goal in the 86th minute. During the match, Ghanaian midfielder Frank Eruzi was substituted at halftime after receiving a yellow card. The team featured three players who had played for Ramat Gan last season, including loaned player Idan Barness from Hapoel Tel Aviv, who scored the opening goal. The foreign signings, Portuguese defender Jota Gonzalves and Brazilian forward Luan Campos, who scored the winning goal, both performed well.

Coach Masai Dego praised the team's performance, noting that the squad looks well-trained and guided, though he acknowledged it was only the first game and expects further improvements and new signings in the near future.
