Onyx Security Raises $113 Million to Secure AI Agents for Enterprises
Onyx Security, a cybersecurity startup founded in 2024 by Maxim Bar Kogan and Gil Elbaz, has secured $113 million in a Series B funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. This latest round follows a $40 million seed round and values the company at approximately $640 million, marking a significant increase in valuation. The company’s platform enables organizations to safely and securely operate AI agents by managing permissions, monitoring actions, and mitigating risks from autonomous machine activity.
Onyx plans to use the new capital to train next-generation AI models and expand its business development and marketing efforts in the United States and other markets. The company currently employs over 80 people across Israel, the US, and Canada and already serves several Fortune 500 clients. In June, Anthropic announced it would integrate Onyx’s technology to help organizations adopt AI solutions securely.
Maxim Bar Kogan, CEO and co-founder, highlighted the rapid growth in demand following the company’s public launch and emphasized investor confidence in Onyx’s potential to become a major player in cybersecurity. He noted that AI is reshaping industries and that companies enabling secure AI adoption will be highly valuable. Onyx’s platform uniquely monitors every step of AI agents’ reasoning processes to detect and correct malicious or unintended actions.
Hila Zigman, managing partner at Cyberstarts, which led the seed round, stated that as AI agents become integral to critical workflows, ensuring their safe and compliant operation is essential. She described Onyx Security as developing a crucial control layer for broad AI adoption and predicted it to be one of the most significant cybersecurity categories in the coming decade.
