Majority Views Funding Flights for Voters Abroad as Election Bribery in Israel

A recent survey conducted in Israel reveals that most of the public considers political funding of flights to bring voters back from abroad as election bribery. Since Israeli law does not allow voting while residing in another country during elections, some political actors might attempt to finance voters' return flights to secure their votes. The survey, carried out by NEXT DATA on July 29, 2026, included 539 adult respondents from across the population. It found that 57% believe such actions constitute a criminal offense under election bribery laws, while 36% do not see it as illegal, and 7% expressed no opinion. The data was analyzed by Shlomo Philber and broadcast on Channel 14 news.
