Southampton goalkeeper Daniel Peretz spoke on 103fm about the dramatic end to the season and his decision to remain with the Championship club despite interest from higher leagues. Reflecting on the team's playoff final loss and subsequent disqualification from Premier League promotion, Peretz described the experience as painful but said the club was transparent about the reasons and the punishment, which he felt was disproportionate. "I would love to be in the Premier League, but everything happens for a reason and for the better," he said.

Peretz revealed he signed a contract extension in June amid interest from several clubs but chose to stay because his heart was with Southampton. He valued the trust, love, and appreciation the club showed him in a short time and felt it was the right place both professionally and ethically. Looking ahead to the next season, he noted the squad retained 99 percent of its players and has strengthened further. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure promotion despite starting with a four-point deduction.

Regarding a recent match against Manchester City in the cup, Peretz said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience, describing the moment of entering Wembley Stadium as giving him goosebumps.
