Israeli Government Veterinarians Secure New Pay and Work Conditions Agreement

The Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, and the Histadrut labor union have signed a new collective agreement for government-employed veterinarians. The deal includes a monthly salary increase of 500 shekels and gradual raises totaling up to 6%. Additionally, one-time bonuses amounting to 12,500 shekels will be distributed, alongside updates to salary tables and job structures.

The agreement also introduces management and on-call duty supplements, reduces the workweek, and expands parental rights for those with children up to age 12. Veterinarians will receive eight additional vacation days and revised eligibility for recuperation pay. These changes aim to improve working conditions and compensation for veterinarians serving in the public sector.
