CNN Releases New List of Top 25 Nude Beaches Worldwide Excluding Israel's Dead Sea Site
Last year, Israel's Masu'ot Deragot Beach at the Dead Sea was featured among CNN's top 25 nude beaches globally, praised for its unique experience of floating naked in salty waters and covering oneself with mineral mud. However, in the latest list published this week, the Israeli beach was notably absent. CNN's updated selection highlights 25 prominent nude beaches worldwide, ranging from secluded coves and natural sites to urban beaches and large naturist resorts, without ranking them or detailing the selection criteria.
The list includes diverse locations such as Nugal Beach in Croatia, a pebble cove accessible only by foot or boat; Lady Bay Beach in Sydney, Australia, officially recognized for nude bathing since the 1970s; and Cap d’Agde in France, one of the largest and most famous naturist villages attracting tens of thousands of visitors each summer. Other notable beaches are Haulover Beach Park in Miami, USA, with over 1.3 million visitors annually; Little Palm Beach in New Zealand, accessible by boat and foot; and Buhne 16 in Germany, a historic naturist site known for its North Sea atmosphere.
Additional beaches featured include Red Beach in Crete, Greece, known for its hippie culture; Callantsoog Beach in the Netherlands, officially recognized since 1973; Anse de Grande Saline in Saint Barthelemy, where nude sunbathing is tolerated; and Playa Zipolite in Mexico, a long-standing naturist spot despite lacking official status. CNN also listed 15 other beaches across Uruguay, Lithuania, Thailand, Sweden, the UK, Canada, the US, Spain, Italy, South Africa, the Canary Islands, Saint Martin, Brazil, and Latvia.
The Israeli beach's exclusion this year marks a shift from the previous recognition, though the global list continues to showcase a wide variety of legal, regulated, or socially accepted nude beaches around the world. CNN did not provide a ranking order or explain the methodology behind the selection.
Summary: CNN updated its list of the world's top 25 nude beaches, excluding Israel's Dead Sea beach this year, while highlighting diverse global naturist sites from Europe to the Americas and Oceania.
