Hapoel Jerusalem Nears Signing American Guard Shake Milton for Upcoming Season

American guard Shake Milton is close to finalizing a contract with Hapoel Jerusalem for the upcoming basketball season. The 29-year-old, who played five seasons in the NBA and appeared in 359 games with an average of 8.2 points per game, has been in talks with the Jerusalem club amid interest from Maccabi Tel Aviv as well. Milton, a 1.96-meter player and SMU graduate from 2018, struggled to secure a stable position in the NBA after his initial years with Philadelphia, moving through several teams including Minnesota, Detroit, New York, Brooklyn, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last season, Milton played outside the United States for the first time, signing with Partizan Belgrade where he averaged 6.9 points per game in the EuroLeague and 12.8 points in the Adriatic League. Hapoel Jerusalem aims to complete the deal soon and finalize their roster for the new season following the recent signing of Dušan Miličić. The team's backcourt will feature returning players Jared Harper, Roy Huber, and Eitan Borg, alongside newcomer Jaylen Smith.
