Israeli Officials Doubt Airstrike Can Destroy Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Site, Netanyahu Presents Intel to Trump

Israeli security officials have expressed skepticism about the reported presence of thousands of advanced centrifuges at Iran's Fordow nuclear facility, suggesting the focus on this site may be exaggerated. They also doubt that an airstrike, even one carried out by heavy American bombers, could successfully damage the site.

During a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared intelligence on the Fordow site and broader Iranian nuclear activities. The expanded meeting included senior security officials from both countries, such as CIA Director John Ratcliffe, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Israel’s National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat, Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Herzog, and Military Secretary Guy Markizano. Ambassador Herzog reportedly brought maps related to Israel’s presence in Lebanon, a topic on which the U.S. administration seeks further Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

A new round of talks between Israel and the U.S. on this issue is scheduled for next week. Meanwhile, a U.S. official told Kan News that negotiations with Iran remain at a serious stage. Netanyahu’s trip to the U.S. aims to coordinate closely with the Trump administration on Iran policy.
