Former Israeli Official Says Netanyahu and Trump Coordinate More Closely Than Perceived

Retired Lt. Col. Ofer Malka, a former senior official in the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, stated at Channel 14's Security Conference that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump maintain a deeper level of coordination than is publicly visible. Malka highlighted that after each of their eight previous meetings, significant developments followed, suggesting that further joint Israeli-American actions are imminent.

Malka also discussed the changing security landscape for Israel, noting a shift from a covert "campaign between wars" to a continuous "war between wars," characterized by ongoing low-intensity conflict punctuated by periods of intense fighting. He explained that this situation primarily benefits Iran by uniting its population against an external enemy and is expected to persist until a comprehensive agreement is reached. However, it remains unclear whether such an agreement would address only freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz or also include Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
