Belz Hasidic Rabbi Shmuel Pinchas Treibeh Passes Away After Long Illness in Bnei Brak

Rabbi Shmuel Pinchas Treibeh, the esteemed Belz Hasidic dayan and kashrut supervisor, passed away at age 64 in Bnei Brak after enduring years of severe illness. Known as the dayan of the Beit Pinchas Beit Midrash and chief kashrut supervisor for the Machzikei HaDat organization in Israel, Rabbi Treibeh was a prominent disciple of Rabbi Shmuel Wosner, the renowned halachic authority known as the Shevet HaLevi.

Born in 1962 to Rabbi Ephraim Treibeh, a respected figure in the Belz community and longtime prayer leader in Belz, Rabbi Shmuel Pinchas was educated in Belz institutions in Jerusalem and excelled academically from a young age. He married the daughter of Rabbi Shmuel Tzvi Grinwald, a senior Belz Hasid in Bnei Brak, and quickly distinguished himself as a brilliant scholar and leader.

Rabbi Treibeh served as head of the Belz kollelim and was personally praised by Rabbi Wosner for his exceptional halachic acumen and rapid mastery of complex issues. He led the special kashrut court Machzikei HaDat for many years, overseeing kosher certification and supervision of numerous facilities. Upon the opening of the Beit Pinchas Beit Midrash in Bnei Brak, the Belz Rebbe appointed him as its dayan, a position he held with distinction.

Despite battling muscular atrophy for two decades, Rabbi Treibeh continued to serve his community. His condition worsened recently, leading to hospitalization two weeks ago due to a severe infection. He died surrounded by family and mourned deeply by the Belz Hasidim of Bnei Brak. He is survived by sons, sons-in-law, Torah scholars, and community leaders. The Belz Rebbe instructed his family to observe Shabbat from midday on Fridays to prolong his life during his illness.

Rabbi Treibeh’s legacy as a leading halachic authority and devoted community servant remains influential within the Belz Hasidic world.
