Former Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit Named Dean of New Law Faculty in Ramat Gan

Avichai Mandelblit, the former Attorney General of Israel and a prominent figure in the country's legal system over the past decade, has been appointed dean of the newly established Faculty of Law at the Ramat Gan Academic College. This appointment was announced by the institution following the Higher Education Council's approval to establish the faculty, which is set to open soon.

Mandelblit, who recently served as dean of the School of Law at the Center for Law and Business, will lead the new faculty's teaching and research efforts. His responsibilities include developing new academic programs, enhancing existing courses, and strengthening ties between academia, the legal profession, and public service.

Throughout his career, Mandelblit has held several senior public roles, including Chief Military Prosecutor, Government Secretary, and Attorney General from 2016 to 2022. His tenure as Attorney General was marked by significant legal and political challenges, notably his controversial decision to indict Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the so-called 'Case 4000,' which sparked intense public and political debate.
