Maccabi Tel Aviv sweeps Hapoel Holon to set up derby final
Maccabi Tel Aviv advanced to the Israeli Basketball Premier League final on Friday, completing a 3,0 sweep of Hapoel Holon with a commanding 89,61 win at Menora Mivtachim Arena. The victory kept the yellow team unbeaten in the playoffs so far and ensured a Tel Aviv derby in the championship series against Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Jalen Hord led Maccabi with 18 points, shooting 7 of 11 from the field, and was the game’s top scorer. Roman Sorkin, Zach Hankins and Jimmy Clark also finished in double figures for the hosts, with Clark returning after a lengthy absence.
Holon struggled on both ends of the floor and, despite poor shooting, managed to stay within reach through halftime. Maccabi took full control in the third quarter and steadily pulled away as the visitors looked powerless to stop the growing margin.
The result came in Game 3 of the series, with Maccabi sealing the sweep in front of its home crowd. Hapoel Tel Aviv is now waiting in the final.
