Apple Introduces AI-Powered Call Context Feature in iOS 27 to Enhance Business Calls

Apple is set to upgrade its Phone app in iOS 27 with a new feature called Call Context, designed to make calls with businesses faster and more convenient. Utilizing Apple's artificial intelligence capabilities, Call Context can display relevant information from various apps on the device during a call. For example, when speaking with an airline, the iPhone can automatically show a confirmation code sent via email or relevant flight details without the user needing to search manually.

In the iOS 27 beta, users reported that the feature not only displayed flight details during calls but also offered to read the confirmation number aloud to the customer service representative. Initially, Call Context will be available only in English and on devices that support Apple's AI package. This feature is part of broader updates in iOS 27, which also include enhancements to the Notes, Wallet, Maps, and Messages apps.
