Saudi Arabia Intercepts Unusual Drone Attack from Iraq Amid Iran-US Tensions

On Monday afternoon, Saudi Arabia announced it intercepted an unusual drone attack launched by pro-Iranian militias based in Iraq. According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, several drones were shot down by the kingdom's defense systems as they targeted oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia and the capital, Riyadh. The ministry stated that these terrorist attempts originated from Iraqi territory and were carried out by pro-Iranian militias. The IDF spokesperson said the source of the launch was under investigation and no alerts were issued per policy. Later, Jordan also reported intercepting two drones over its territory, though it is unclear if these were related to the earlier incidents.
