Economist Shlomo Maoz Joins Former MK Eli Goldschmidt's New Party as Finance Minister Candidate
Economist Shlomo Maoz has accepted an invitation from former Knesset member Eli Goldschmidt to join his newly formed political party. Maoz will be the party's candidate for the position of Finance Minister or to lead another economic ministry. Goldschmidt expressed great satisfaction with Maoz's addition, calling him "the best economist in Israel," highlighting Maoz's accurate predictions of Israel's positive economic developments since October 7, which elevated the country to one of the world's wealthiest. Goldschmidt emphasized Maoz's extensive knowledge across all economic sectors, including foreign exchange, capital markets, and commodities.
Goldschmidt also praised Maoz's strong social sensitivity, stating that his involvement will enable fundamental improvements in government policies toward young couples, senior citizens, reservists, and their economic challenges. He concluded by asserting that Maoz is uniquely qualified to implement these necessary reforms in Israel.
