Israeli political commentator Yaakov Bardugo said on Channel 14's program "Seven" that former finance minister Moshe Kahlon is examining whether to join the new party of former IDF chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot, called "Yashar!".
According to the report, Bardugo said on air that Kahlon, who has kept a low political profile, had spoken in a podcast about joining Eisenkot's party. He described Kahlon as having been, in his words, "a soldier of the deep state for many years."
The report came amid an intensified recruitment race on the Israeli center-left ahead of the 2026 elections. The Democrats are preparing for primaries, while Naftali Bennett and Eisenkot are announcing new additions to their camps almost daily.
Against that backdrop, Kahlon was presented as another potential political figure whose next move remains unclear, even as parties continue trying to bolster their lists before the election.
