Shai Mika Responds to Renewed Taair Raada Murder Investigation Amid Social Media Rumors

The decision to reopen the investigation into the 2004 murder of Taair Raada has reignited public debate and social media speculation, with Shai Mika's name resurfacing repeatedly. Mika was among the last to see Raada alive, recalling that they sat together at school before Raada left to get a drink and never returned. Although Mika described Raada as a good friend, Raada's mother, Ilana Raada, stated they were not close friends but acquaintances through dance classes. Over the years, especially after doubts arose about Roman Zadorov's conviction, Mika's name has been linked to various rumors online, despite no evidence or suspicion of her involvement in the case.

In response to the renewed social media speculation, Mika posted on Instagram, "Thank God for everything. To all those trying to ruin my life - I will not let you. We are not alone. Free love, blessings to all, and love your neighbor as yourself."

The investigation's reopening was ordered by the head of the Police Investigations and Intelligence Division, nearly 20 years after the murder. The case has been transferred to the Tel Aviv District Central Unit, which will reexamine the evidence using advanced technology unavailable during the original investigation. This development follows the 2023 acquittal of Roman Zadorov, who spent about 17 years in prison. The identity of the murderer remains unknown, and police hope the renewed inquiry will lead to a breakthrough.
