Yael Shevach Invites Israelis to New Home Dedication After Gilad Farm Fire

About a week after a fire destroyed their home at Gilad Farm, Yael Shevach, widow of Rabbi Raziel Shevach who was killed in a 2018 shooting attack near the settlement, continues to show resilience and faith despite the heavy loss. The fire consumed the family home as well as personal mementos and valuable belongings of her late husband.

In a heartfelt social media post on Monday, Shevach invited all Israelis to join the dedication of the Shevach family’s new home on the 15th of Av, 5783 (August 2023), describing it as an open invitation to everyone. She expressed her emotions shortly after the fire, saying, "The house is no longer here. We are okay, thank you all for your concern," and added, "I want to curl up in the ashes that used to be my bed."

The incident at Gilad Farm, located in the West Bank, drew public attention to the family's ordeal and Shevach's ongoing strength in the face of tragedy. The upcoming house dedication event symbolizes a step forward and a communal gathering to support the family and celebrate renewal.
