Former Israeli Security Chiefs Warn Trump of Settler Violence Threatening Regional Stability
Around 600 former senior officials from the Israel Defense Forces, Mossad, Shin Bet, and the Foreign Affairs apparatus have sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of his meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The letter, issued by the group "Commanders for Israel's Security," warns of escalating "terror activities by settlers" in the West Bank. The former officials caution that the rising wave of settler violence could prove more destructive than Hamas's October 7 attacks and their multifaceted consequences. The letter was also sent to the White House and senior aides including Jared Kushner and Steve Whitkoff. The signatories stressed that only President Trump can prevent this looming disaster and urged him to deliver a firm and clear message to address the threat.
