Shipping traffic through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, located between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, has significantly decreased following recent Houthi attacks on Saudi oil facilities. According to data from the maritime analytics firm Kpler, only 11 cargo vessels passed through Bab al-Mandeb yesterday, marking the lowest volume in several months. Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz also experienced reduced activity, with fewer than 10 cargo ships passing through during the weekend. These declines reflect heightened regional tensions impacting key maritime routes vital for global trade and energy shipments.
