65-Year-Old Man Critically Hurt After Choking on Chicken in Mateh Yehuda
A man in his mid-60s choked on chicken at his home in Mateh Yehuda on Friday and lost consciousness, according to emergency responders. The incident happened in a moshav in the regional council area, after the man reportedly began choking during a meal.
United Hatzalah medical teams were called to the scene and immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts. The first responders on site, Menachem Wiseman and Micky Gastewirt, said they were told the man had choked while eating chicken and then fainted.
"We performed resuscitation efforts and then he was evacuated to the hospital in critical condition while resuscitation continued," they said. The man was rushed to hospital and continued receiving life-saving treatment there.
