90-Year-Old Woman Chokes While Eating in Jerusalem, Resuscitated and Hospitalized
A 90-year-old woman choked while eating on Armenian Patriarchate Street in Jerusalem on the morning of the incident. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams arrived at the scene at 9:45 AM to find her unconscious, without pulse or breathing. Paramedics and medics performed advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions and artificial respiration, while using specialized medical equipment to remove food pieces from her throat.
After restoring her pulse, the woman was transported to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem in serious condition but stable. MDA paramedic Ahab Alian and senior medic from the motorcycle unit, Natan Rotter, described the rescue efforts and emphasized the critical role of the equipment in clearing her airway. The woman’s condition upon hospital arrival was reported as severe.
