Back in Europe: Suf Podgoreanu Signs Four-Year Deal with Belgian Club Kortrijk

Suf Podgoreanu is returning to Europe. The player, who had belonged to Maccabi Haifa for the past four years, signed this evening, Wednesday, with Kortrijk of the Belgian league on a four-year deal. The 24-year-old Podgoreanu did not find his place in the Green squad last season, and is now heading out for another spell in Europe after previously playing in the Italian league, at Roma and Spezia, and in the Dutch league, at Heracles.

Kortrijk sporting director Nils Vesta commented on Podgoreanu’s signing: “Suf is a player we have been following for a long time. Despite his young age, he has already gained experience in different environments. He has an excellent mentality, which fits our club perfectly. We believe he is a perfect fit for our vision to develop more young and ambitious players. With his profile, he adds more dynamism and creativity to our wings and striker position.”

Podgoreanu himself said after signing: “I am very happy to sign with Kortrijk. From the first conversations, I felt a lot of confidence from the club. I look forward to getting to know my teammates, working hard and experiencing success together with the fans.”
