Netanyahu Welcomes ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan's Removal Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the International Criminal Court's (ICC) decision to remove Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan following a decisive vote by 82 member states. Khan was ousted due to serious sexual harassment allegations against women working under him at the ICC headquarters in The Hague. Netanyahu described the dismissal as exposing "the injustice and corruption" within the ICC and its political bias against Israel and its leaders.

Netanyahu claimed that Khan's attempt to issue arrest warrants against him and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant coincided with the emergence of these allegations. He accused Khan of canceling a planned visit to Israel and reversing his commitment to thoroughly examine Israel's independent judiciary, instead focusing on politically motivated actions against Israeli officials. Netanyahu argued that Khan sought to divert attention from the accusations by rallying Israel's adversaries as his political shield, which has now been removed.

The Prime Minister further stated that the scandal reveals broader systemic corruption within both the prosecutor's office and the ICC itself. He also mentioned a recent conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who reaffirmed America's determination to act firmly against the ICC. Netanyahu concluded by calling the development a "very positive" step and insisted that the truth must now be heard worldwide.
