Ilana Rada Says She Was Not Informed About Reopening of Daughter Tair Rada’s Murder Case

Two days after reports emerged that the murder case of Tair Rada was transferred to the Tel Aviv District Investigation Unit, Ilana Rada, the victim’s mother, stated she had not been officially informed about the development. The case was reportedly reopened 20 years after the 2006 murder in Katzrin and five years after Roman Zadorov’s release from prison. Ilana told Ynet she learned about the reopening from the media and expressed hope that justice would be served.

Ola Kravchenko, a former classmate of Tair Rada and previously a suspect in the case, commented on Facebook about the transfer of the investigation team from the Northern District to Tel Aviv. She expressed hope that new information would lead to the real perpetrator and bring peace to the family after years of uncertainty and suffering. Kravchenko also said she was not worried about being summoned for questioning, as her case was closed due to lack of evidence.

Roman Zadorov was first convicted in 2010 for the murder of 13-year-old Tair Rada. He was reconvicted after new evidence was presented, but his appeal was denied. In 2021, the Supreme Court ordered a retrial, and in 2023, Zadorov was acquitted by the Nazareth District Court. The presiding judge, Asher Kola, criticized the prosecution for failing to prove Zadorov’s confession matched the crime scene and described the confession as likely false. After his acquittal, Zadorov publicly maintained his innocence and expressed relief that the truth had finally come out.
