Tensions Surface in Bennett’s Campaign as Polls Slide
Internal tensions inside Naftali Bennett’s Together party have come into the open in recent days, as the campaign grows increasingly worried about weakening poll numbers. According to Channel 13, a senior figure in Bennett’s circle, who is one of the campaign’s leaders, delivered unusually harsh criticism of two central figures he blames for the party’s troubles.
The official was quoted as saying, “We have two ‘attacks’ , one is Yair Lapid, the other is Lior Horev. If there is no change, we will have a hard time rising.” The remarks were reported by Michael Shemesh on Channel 13.
People around Bennett say Lapid, the leader of Yesh Atid, is doing direct damage to the party by drawing away moderate right-wing voters who had considered supporting Bennett. They also criticized political strategist Lior Horev, who was appointed only recently, saying he has not been able to build an effective strategy to pull the campaign out of its current polling slump.
Together responded to Channel 13 by dismissing the report, saying, “This is another fabricated story from unknown sources that no one knows.”
