IDF Warns US Strike on Iran Could Happen at Any Moment Amid Rising Tensions

Amid the announcement of a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remain on high alert for a potential US strike on Iran, which they assess could occur at any moment. Concurrently, the US State Department issued its first-ever travel warning for Israel, advising citizens to avoid travel to the region.

Iran rejected a ceasefire proposal from Trump, which was delivered by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi, according to Iranian and Iraqi sources cited by The New York Times. The mediation attempt failed after Trump threatened to escalate the conflict by targeting Iran’s critical infrastructure. Iraqi officials have denied these reports.

Israel is preparing for possible Iranian retaliatory fire and an escalation of hostilities as early as the coming weekend. Trump told Axios he is close to making a decision and is "considering a massive attack bigger than anything before," adding, "If I ask, Israel will join the fight." A senior Israeli officer noted that unlike previous wars, Iran’s ballistic missile systems are now ready to launch almost immediately toward Israel in a conflict scenario, posing a significant challenge for the Israeli Air Force to quickly strike missile batteries in Iran.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the conclusion of 13 consecutive nights of strikes against Iranian military targets, including command centers, drone storage facilities, communication networks, coastal surveillance sites, and naval capabilities. These operations aim to reduce the threat Iran poses to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM confirmed that the international waterway remains open, with commercial shipping continuing freely under US military protection. Over 50,000 US troops are currently deployed across the Middle East.
