Gur Hasidim Celebrate Release of Yeshiva Student Israel Yehuda Fein in Jerusalem
On the night following Tisha B'Av, Israel Yehuda Fein, a student of the Sfat Emet Yeshiva in Jerusalem, was released from military prison after serving a sentence related to his draft refusal. Upon his arrival in Jerusalem, friends, family, and fellow yeshiva students gathered at the Sfat Emet Yeshiva hall to warmly welcome him. The crowd danced energetically and sang the well-known chant, "We do not believe in the rule of the heretics," expressing their devotion to Torah values.
The joyous event was further honored by the presence of Rabbi David Alter, son of the Gur Rebbe. After the reception, thousands participated in a large procession through the streets of Jerusalem, heading to Fein's family home on Menachat Yitzhak Street. Throughout the march, participants sang and danced to celebrate the release of the "Torah world prisoner," underscoring the community's solidarity and reverence for Torah study.
