Iran Warns US Attack on Tehran Will Trigger Strikes on Tel Aviv

Iranian officials have warned that any American military strike on Tehran would be met with retaliatory attacks on Tel Aviv. This warning follows US President Donald Trump's recent statements indicating he is considering a massive strike against Iran. Two Iranian security sources told The New York Times that Iran is preparing for the possibility of an expanded conflict if Trump carries out his threats to target Tehran and critical infrastructure. They added that Iran could escalate the conflict regionally, including through strikes on Tel Aviv and by Houthi rebels in Yemen closing the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

Trump made his remarks during an interview with Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, stating he is close to deciding on a "massive" attack larger than any previous ones, emphasizing that the US is fully prepared. He also said Israel would join within two minutes if requested but insisted the US does not need Israeli assistance to launch an operation against Iran. Earlier, Trump issued a stern warning that any Iranian attack on ships in the Strait of Hormuz would prompt US strikes on Iranian infrastructure, including bridges and power stations near or inside Tehran.

Israeli security assessments indicate rising concerns that the escalating US-Iran tensions could soon lead to a broader confrontation, potentially involving attacks on Israeli territory. The situation remains volatile as both sides prepare for possible military escalation in the coming days.
