New York Police Arrest Suspect in Manhattan Stabbings Near Synagogue, Hate Crime Investigation Underway

New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch addressed the recent stabbing attacks outside a Manhattan synagogue, which left two men injured, including a Jewish victim. Authorities have arrested a 51-year-old suspect named Raoul Morales and are not currently searching for additional suspects. According to Tisch, detectives are investigating the motive, with victim and eyewitness testimonies indicating that Morales shouted 'Allahu Akbar' during both attacks. The New York Police Department is examining whether the incidents constitute a hate crime. Although Morales has no known history of mental health issues, preliminary investigations suggest that his mental state may have contributed to the events. At this stage, there is no known connection between Morales and any of the victims, nor between the victims themselves.
