Yaron Ilan Launches New Weekly Show 'Friday Live' on Channel 14 with Live Music from Rehovot Market

Yaron Ilan will debut his new weekly program 'Friday Live' on Channel 14 this Friday with a live broadcast from the municipal market in Rehovot. The show will air from 11:00 to 14:00 and feature performances by popular Israeli artists including Arik Mashali, Michael Peretz, Boaz Taviv, Zion Golan, Pini Haddad, Avi Peretz, Idan Moshe, Bar Cohen, Moran Kriti, Itzik Shamli, and Lior Mayara. The program aims to create a festive atmosphere leading into the Sabbath.

Ilan, a longtime prominent figure on Channel 24 known for championing Mizrahi music and its rise to mainstream Israeli culture, recently transitioned to Channel 14. He described the move as a new chapter in his career, expressing enthusiasm for the fresh opportunities and support he has found at the new channel. "I felt I had completed my journey at Channel 24," Ilan said, adding that Channel 14 offered him exciting new projects and a warm reception.

He emphasized his commitment to preserving the legacy of veteran and nostalgic artists, referencing a documentary series he previously produced titled 'From the Vineyard to Caesarea,' which chronicled Mizrahi music from the 1950s to today. Ilan also plans to host a podcast focused on cultural topics as part of his role at Channel 14. His career spans over two decades, during which he witnessed the transformation of Mizrahi music from a marginalized genre to one embraced by mainstream audiences, with leading artists like Eyal Golan, Omer Adam, Itay Levi, and Sarit Hadad.
