Israeli satirist and media personality Lior Schlein, known as a sharp critic of the government and its allied media, said in a Wednesday interview that he sometimes watches Channel 14.
Speaking on entrepreneur Yasmin Lukatz's podcast, "Basalon Shel Yasmin," Schlein discussed the country's public mood and used his trademark sarcasm to describe it. "We are here, but I see people who are no longer here," he said.
He then turned to one of the most discussed issues in Israel, the emigration of academics and tech workers. Schlein offered his own punchline: "Everyone is worried about the brain drain. In stand-up I say that sometimes I watch Channel 14 and worry about something else, that the brain leaves for abroad but the body stays in the country."
The article says Schlein continues to follow those on the opposite side of the political divide closely, whether for work, what it calls a kind of "terror watch," or simple curiosity, and keeps turning current events into material for his stage act.
