Tel Aviv Pride Parade Begins, With Major Road Closures and Heavy Police Deployment
Israeli police began deploying forces on Friday morning for the 2026 Tel Aviv Pride Parade, while broad traffic restrictions took effect along the parade route and nearby assembly areas. Police said more than 1,000 officers, Border Police fighters, volunteers and special units would operate along the route and at the event site to provide security, maintain public order and direct traffic.
On Thursday night, Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Danny Levy toured the area and reviewed the preparations ahead of the event. Starting at 6:30 a.m., police closed many streets across Tel Aviv and urged drivers to use alternative routes.
The closures included Rokach Boulevard westbound from Ibn Gabirol, Hayarkon Street southbound from Jabotinsky and northbound from Yosef Hekhali to J.L. Gordon, Herbert Samuel Street southbound from Shalag to Yekhezkel Kaufman including the service road, and Kaufman Street northbound from Eilat to Yosef Hekhali. Also closed were Nahum Goldman Street northbound from Eilat to Yosef Hekhali and from Clock Square to Kaufman, Eilat Street westbound from Alufei Tzahal, Eliyahu Street northbound from Derech Shlomo, Derech Shlomo westbound from Eliyahu, Mafo Street from Yehoshua to Hayarkon, and several cross streets including Frishman, Trumpeldor, Ness Ziona, Geula, Nehemia and the Carmelit.
Police listed open exit routes from Tel Aviv via Eilat, Jaffa, Menachem Begin, HaRakevet, La Guardia, Pinsker, Bograshov, Tchernichovsky, Dizengoff, Kaplan, Jabotinsky, Namir Road, J.L. Gordon, King Solomon, the Prophets and Shaul HaMelech.
