Mark Zell Says US Supports Israel and Seeks Saudi Inclusion in Abraham Accords
Mark Zell, chairman of the Republican Party in Israel, spoke on Channel 14 about the United States' stance toward Israel, Iran, and the Middle East. He emphasized that former President Donald Trump supports Israel and that the US fully understands the threat posed by Iran. Zell based his remarks on meetings with US government and congressional representatives, stating that America is aware "who they are dealing with in Iran."
Zell highlighted that the US has its own interests in the region, aiming for "peace and quiet" ahead of the November elections. He noted that the American administration desires that Sunni Arab allies, particularly Saudi Arabia, join the regional alliance with Israel and the US. Zell stressed that a civilian nuclear agreement with Saudi Arabia is contingent on Riyadh joining the Abraham Accords.
He described this potential Saudi inclusion as a "very, very dramatic" development that would reshape the Middle East. According to Zell, the US views Saudi Arabia's integration into the Abraham Accords as crucial for stabilizing the region and strengthening alliances against Iran.
