US Secretary Marco Rubio Slams ICC and New York Mayor Over Netanyahu Arrest Warrant

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sharply criticized the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, calling its members "crazy and insane" during a press briefing in Manila. Rubio emphasized that the United States does not recognize the ICC's jurisdiction, responding to New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani's call to enforce the ICC arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Rubio dismissed the ICC as a "stupid organization" and stated that the US will not be part of it.

Earlier this week, Mamdani acknowledged that New York City lacks the authority to arrest Netanyahu under the ICC order but urged the federal government to enforce the warrant. Rubio also addressed Iran, accusing it of daily attempts to negotiate a deal while frequently changing its stance. He warned that if Iran does not reconsider its approach, it will "pay a price," noting that the US president is currently not responding to Iran's provocations because they are not serious.

Rubio's remarks come amid heightened tensions surrounding the ICC's actions against Netanyahu and ongoing concerns about Iran's nuclear ambitions. The US continues to reject the ICC's authority and maintains a firm stance on Iran's negotiations.
