Former Footballer Eli Ohana Denies Joining Likud Amid Speculation

Former Israeli footballer Eli Ohana addressed rumors about his potential inclusion on the Likud party list during a radio appearance on 103FM on Thursday. Upon his arrival, host Barak Seri greeted him with "Welcome, Member of Knesset Ohana," to which Ohana responded, "I don't know what you're talking about. No one has spoken to me," firmly denying any discussions about joining the party. Seri dismissed Ohana's denial.

Earlier that day, Likud Minister Eli Cohen commented on the speculation, expressing hope that Prime Minister Netanyahu would bring quality figures to strengthen Likud. Cohen described Ohana as a "symbol" and said he enjoys hearing him in the media, suggesting Ohana would be a worthy addition to the party's reserved slots.

Eli Ohana is best known for his football career, primarily with Beitar Jerusalem, and has held various professional and managerial roles at the club after retiring. Currently, he works as a football commentator on Sport Channel, a radio host on 103FM, and co-hosts the show "Ofira Ohana Seri" on Keshet 12 alongside Ofira Asayag and Barak Seri. Despite the buzz, Ohana maintains he has not been approached about joining Likud.
