Former Footballer Menashe Zelka Expected to Secure Likud List Spot for Upcoming Elections
The Likud party, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is preparing to announce another reserved candidate spot on its election list as early as this Sunday. According to Kan 11 reporter Yaara Shapira, the party is making significant efforts to secure a representative from the Ethiopian community. The leading candidate for this reserved slot is former footballer and reserve soldier Menashe Zelka. This move follows several other important reserved placements recently secured by Netanyahu, including Urban Dubrovsky at number 11, as well as Defense Minister Israel Katz, Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and Minister Haim Katz. Likud hopes to finalize negotiations with Zelka and officially announce his inclusion early next week as part of the party's preparations for finalizing its candidate list ahead of the elections.
