Ofira Asaig Says She Blocked Eyal Berkovic After Harsh Messages
Ofira Asaig says her long-running TV partnership with Eyal Berkovic ended badly after years of friendship and joint radio and television work. In an interview on "What Really Happened There?" with Erez Tal, airing tomorrow after the news on Keshet 12, she described how the split deepened after the October 7 disruptions to broadcasting and a dispute over how to return to air.
According to Asaig, when Berkovic saw her on television without him, he sent her a message with words so harsh that she immediately blocked him on WhatsApp and Instagram. She said he disliked her sitting on screen with others, including Maayan Adam and Israel Katorza, and felt she had damaged the brand by appearing on TV without him.
Asaig said the final break came when they were invited to return to the Friday 6:00 p.m. slot after she had worked alone for two months, and Berkovic refused to come back. The pair had started their TV collaboration in 2017 and had presented together on Fridays for about six years.
