WSC Sports to Lay Off Around 70 Employees Mostly in Israel Amid Global Restructuring

WSC Sports, a sports technology company specializing in AI-driven sports content automation, has initiated layoffs affecting approximately 70 employees, primarily in its Israeli headquarters. The company began the hearing process today, with an estimated 10% of its workforce expected to be let go. Founded in 2011, WSC Sports operates globally with offices in Israel, New York, London, Sydney, and Asia, employing around 680 people worldwide, of whom about 550 work in Israel.

WSC Sports develops technology that automates the creation, management, distribution, and monetization of sports content, serving over 650 sports organizations including the NBA, ESPN, YouTubeTV, and La Liga. This platform helps rights holders expand their audience reach, grow fan bases, and generate new revenue opportunities across various platforms.

The layoffs are part of a broad company-wide efficiency drive responding to changes in the global macroeconomic environment and do not target any specific department, role, or product. The company described the decision as difficult but necessary to sustain growth and invest in strategic expansion areas.
