Netanyahu's Office Requests Removal of Podcast Segment on Relationship with Daughter Noa
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was recently interviewed on the podcast "Hakol Patuach" hosted by media personality Avi Shushan, with the episode scheduled for release on Wednesday. During the interview, Netanyahu was asked about his relationship with his daughter Noa from his first marriage. Noa is known for her religious lifestyle, having become observant and living in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem. This personal question touched on a topic Netanyahu has rarely addressed publicly, amid longstanding rumors about their relationship.
After the podcast was recorded, Netanyahu's office contacted Shushan requesting the removal of the segment concerning Noa. It remains unclear whether the segment will be edited out or aired as planned. The Prime Minister's office denied the claim that they sought to censor the content, stating, "The information is incorrect." Shushan responded by inviting the public to watch the emotional episode when it premieres.
The issue of Netanyahu's family relations has drawn public attention before, notably about two years ago when he faced criticism for missing his grandson's bar mitzvah, Noa's son. Netanyahu was attending a cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv at the time, and his absence sparked social media debate and criticism regarding his decision not to attend the family event.
