Avi Shoshan Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Details of Interview with Netanyahu

Israeli media personality Avi Shoshan discussed the recent controversy surrounding his podcast interview with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Speaking on 103fm, Shoshan described the interview as an extraordinary experience, lasting one hour and 45 minutes, much longer than initially planned. He revealed that it took two years of effort and multiple visits to the Prime Minister's Office before the interview was finally approved during Netanyahu's vacation. Shoshan had to advance his return flight to Israel to prepare for the conversation after being informed on Friday morning that the interview would take place on Sunday.

One of the most talked-about moments was Shoshan's question about Netanyahu's daughter, Noa. Contrary to reports, Shoshan stated that the Prime Minister's Office did not request the removal of this segment and had actually approved it. He emphasized that while he offers all interviewees the option to exclude personal content, Netanyahu chose not to exercise this right. Shoshan also noted that Netanyahu watched the podcast and was pleased with the final product, as was his office. However, Netanyahu preferred not to elaborate on certain topics, such as the name changes of his sons Avner and Yair.

Responding to criticism that the interview was overly flattering, Shoshan clarified that his approach was not to imitate other journalists but to bring emotion and a personal touch to the conversation. He aimed to go beyond typical political questions to genuinely listen and understand Netanyahu. Shoshan also mentioned that compliments to Sara Netanyahu were intended to subtly convey additional messages, which many listeners did not recognize.
