Roni Duani Returns to Music at 40 with New Sound and Single

Roni Duani, known as Roni Superstar and a key figure in bringing modern pop to Israel, has announced her return to music at age 40. In a recent interview with Galei Tzahal, she reflected on the heavy toll her early career took, expressing fatigue from constantly explaining her artistic choices and the pop genre. After stepping back from the spotlight, she found peace and clarity about her music and identity.

Despite her hiatus, Duani's influence remains strong among Israel's current pop and rock artists. She shared her excitement about discovering that younger artists like Nono (Naomi) grew up listening to her music. Duani is also collaborating with Doron Talmon, lead singer of Jane Bordeaux, on new songs for her upcoming album. She expressed happiness about the vibrant pop scene today and the warm appreciation she receives from younger colleagues.

Addressing how pop music fits into her life at 40, Duani emphasized she will not repeat her past work but is exploring a new sound. This evolution is marked by her new English single "Anytime," which she describes as deeply personal and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her career.
